Non-stoichiometric titanium dioxide ceramics with formula TiO2-x (where x < 2) is considered to be a perspective material. There has been an interest in ceramic electrodes obtained from non-stoichiometric titania (TiO2-x) for water treatment applications.
Titanium oxide ceramics rods were prepared using extrusion process and subsequent thermal treatment in two stages – in air atmosphere at 850 - 1450 °C and then in vacuum at temperatures 1250 - 1300 °C. To create the electrode, a wire must be attached to TiO2-x ceramic rod. For this reason the copper layer was deposited by electrolysis on one end of TiO2-x rod surface.
