Taking into consideration the fact that at present the prosperity level of the population in the country is relatively low, it is essential for the majority of the inhabitants to control their expenses. People pay more and more attention to the prices for goods and services, as well as to the issue of adequacy of goods and services that can be purchased for a particular price. The situation is caused by the consequences of the major economic crisis, which stoke Latvia at the end of 2008. Salaries and wages were reduced, taxes were raised, the number of jobs decreased, etc. Such social changes cause further reduction of paying capacity of the households.
